Finding Accounts Outside the U.S.

My clients often ask about finding bank accounts and investments in other countries.Yes! There is a path to find money that has moved outside the U.S. borders. The work actually starts in the U.S. We’ll first need to find accounts that exist or existed at a U.S. bank. This is the part that you pay Carl Mason P.I. to perform. It takes about a week or so.Once we know where the account(s) are at, Carl Mason P.I. will work with your attorney on a legal process called a subpoena. For reference only: Financial institutions usually require a valid legal order commanding them to produce these records, and a typical legal order instrument is the Subpoena Duces Tecum, also known in some jurisdictions as a Subpoena for Production of Evidence. (Don’t worry, your attorney takes care of this, you don’t need to know it).The subpoena will order the bank to submit monthly statements for legal review. The bank statements will show a record of any wire transfers or money exchanges to/from a particular financial institution. It will also show the country and account information that is needed to ‘trace’ those funds. So yes! There is a path that is very effective to find accounts outside the U.S. And even if we don’t know the name or identifier of the person (or company) that owns the foreign account. When you are ready to get started – contact Carl Mason P.I.—This blog is intended to provide only a brief outline for our site visitors.
